I have one child and I’m divorced. I was 28 when I had my son. I get child support and work full-time, but it’s still a daily struggle, even though I have a good job. I’m not on assistance. We are caucasion, but my son and I are learning Spanish. I come from a single parent home. I hope this helps!

I have one daughter and one on the way. My 1st daughters father has not paid child support since January. The only public assistance I get is medical. I am living with my 2nd daughters father and he supports us all. I do not work, my daughter was never in daycare, we do not speak spanish, I am white and I was raised by my Mom and my step father. ok first off this NO SUCH things as a illigetimate child…how degrading. Second, some kids are better off having the parents no longer together, it would of been that way if my parents werent together. We would of been better off without my father. So I think your questions are just rude.
well, this isn’t the most humbling question to answer but here goes:
i am not married, but i am with the father of my children. i have a 2 year old named hailey (had her when i was 22) and i have twin girls on the way named jewel and mia (i am 24). i am not working right now b/c it isn’t that possible, i’m huge and very uncomfortable, due any day now. but i did work up till a week before my due date with my first, i quit working this time about 2 months ago. i am on wic for the formula for the twins. i have received food stamps before (about 300 a month, that’s with 3 people in the family). and i am on pregnancy medicaid.. i do not put my kids in daycare, my significant other and i work different shifts so one of us can be home. i do not speak spanish. i took 3 years in high school and 2 in college. my daughter loves dora and diego and has learned a lot from that. i am caucasian and i was not raised in a single parent home.
I was 19 when I had my child. His father was killed while I was pregnant. I have never been on any assistance. I am an English speaking, 30 yr old white, single woman. My parents are still married and will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary this year. I have a full time job and am now finishing my degree for a personal accomplishment. I am currently considered “upper-middle class” and also own my own home. A very close friend of mine took on the role as the father figure when my child was 6 mos old. 10 years later, he is still a strong father figure and has established an account in my son’s name of which he contributes a “child support” payment and he attends every father/son school activity. I’m thankful for him and his family. He is an African American, 33 yr old male with a wife and child of his own.

I have 3 kids. I was 19, when i had the first child. And was married, the child now lives with the father.
2nd marriage , I had 2 children who are 10 and 11 now.I was 23 and 24 when i had them. The ex pays NOTHING in child support and i work to support my kids. No welfare, no wic, no daycare assistance.
I dont speak spanish, and i dont think I should have to in AMERICA.

i understand your question but it seems to harsh. This situation doesnt apply to me but My sister isnt married anymore [she is 34] and has 2 children by two differant men, Her daughters dad pays child support but her sons dad doesnt She doesnt get puplic assistance. She works, No she doesnt get daycare fees reduced. Yes she speaks English. She is White. We were both raised in a single parent home.
